I was ready for this region race today. I kept my body all iced up and my core temp down before the race which helped alot with my problems i have been having in getting or being to hot before i run. I am going to keep on doing this. I was well hydrated have been eating well. Well rested and just all around ready to go. Did a 2 mile warm up and was even more ready. I was motivated and had a dream about taking region and state this week. I was also praising God the whole way with the talent and ablility he has given me, which helps alot. (Yes, just like Ryan Hall).

I went out pretty slow well behind everyone at the start about .5 into it i got up with Austin and Corey and we just stayed together almost the whole race with Jeff in the lead. I just talked the whole time and joked around which really helps me stay relaxed. Hopefully i didn't ignore anyone, but it helps me. About 2.25 or 2.5 i took off and started to make my long drive. I took a commanding lead and led the rest of the race winning by about 24 seconds. It was a great day and i felt amazing. I am ready for state and ready for Jonathon Nelson. Just need to run my race and stay back a little then go for it. This is going to be fun and i can do it. I have been visualizing it and it can happen. Thanks to my team we are going to state together and thanks to my competition and buddies and my Coach and everyone on the blog who has helped make me the runner i am today. Thanks to hardwork.

The course was slow and long so a slow time.

Great job Hayden. I wish I could have watched. I'm going to see about coming up and watching state, but it depends on who will let me bum a ride off of them. It made me laugh that you can stay back and talk with them during a race. That's really good.

Best of Luck at State Hayden!

Great job buddy! you are amazing. Too bad you and karl won't be able to push each other at state but I guess that's good because you'll be able to both take first. You can do it...you are definitely good enough so you just have to gut it out. To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift...You'll do great...just relax and run like the champion you are.
